Summary:

You will work in the Quality Assurance Department as part of the team controlling and developing the quality management systems and processes under the guidance of the Quality Systems Specialist.

The role will involve facilitating activities related to Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA), Non- Conformance Management/concessions, Product Specification review, Contract Review, and Internal Auditing across the USA sites, coordinating teams, ensuring timely close out of actions, and communicating with interested parties. You will complete or assign actions and ensure associated documentation is up to date.

You will have worked in an ISO9001:2015 facility and have experience of QC and/or QA Departments. Working in an ITAR Export Controlled Environment and having experience in regulations relevant to a chemical or metallurgical manufacturing facility will be highly beneficial.

You will demonstrate excellent teamwork and accountability, influencing colleagues in other departments.

Other tasks will be allocated, as required, from across the Quality and Compliance Team that will be part of the continuing development and improvement of the QMS across all arenas. For instance, you may be involved in maintaining the QMS documents and completing Purchase Order reviews for compliance checks to quality and/or regulatory requirements.

You will be based in the Saxonburg, PA office and the role will require working closely with the Operations, Sales, and Procurement departments. Some travel (25%) to other USA sites will be necessary. Occasionally, you may travel to the UK facility.

You may perform or support audits ensuring Quality and Compliance of external suppliers to the business requirements. Any actions from these audits will be tracked in the CAPA database and you will be responsible for their close out to schedule.

Day-to-day activities as part of the Quality and Compliance Team will include managing company tracking databases, generating periodic reports, coordinating, and entering data into Microsoft packages.

Main responsibilities:

  • Work safely and comply with all company HSE requirements.
  • Work with the Quality and Compliance Department.
  • Complete activities related to Contract Review, Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA), Internal Audits, NCP/concessions across the business, ensuring timely completion of actions where attention to detail and accuracy is paramount.
  • Carry out internal audits and preferably audits of external suppliers.
  • Work with the Company’s Intranet and SharePoint information and document systems.
  • Liaise with Quality Specialists/Managers and other third parties over quality related issues.
  • Work with other departments on quality aspects of operational and continuous improvements.
  • Any other duties within the post holder’s competence as requested.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS.) in Engineering, Operations, Material Science, Chemistry, or related Science subject or equivalent level of competency.
  • Experience in a business under a QMS - ISO 9001:2015.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance tools.
  • Experience of using MS365; Excel – Intermediate level e.g., graphs, data analysis
  • Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint – Basic
  • Experience of using Third party Software packages for reporting/registrations e.g. IUCLID, CDX
  • Experience of working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Utilizing QA tools related to CAPA methodology.

Beneficial skills

  • Internal auditor trained.
  • Experience with AS9100 or IATF16949 QMS systems
  • Experience of using Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience in facilitating projects and working with teams related to Root Cause/Corrective Action
  • Working knowledge of international quality standards and Military Specifications
  • Working knowledge of international chemical regulations (eg. TSCA/REACH)
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and database systems
